Medical Weight Loss in Tokyo | Mounjaro, Wegovy, Zepbound & GLP-1 Treatment

Weight Loss Medication in Shinjuku – English- and Chinese-Speaking Doctors

Looking for Mounjaro, Wegovy, Zepbound, or other weight-loss medications in Tokyo?

At eHealth Clinic Shinjuku, we provide medical weight-loss consultations and personalized treatment plans for international tourists and foreign residents.

Our English- and Chinese-speaking doctors can prescribe weight-loss medications when medically appropriate, with regular follow-up consultations and blood tests to monitor your health.

All medical weight-loss treatments at our clinic are self-pay and require an in-person consultation. Online consultations are not available for medical weight-loss treatment.

In Japan, a BMI of 25 or higher is classified as obesity. However, eligibility for medication depends on your medical history, health condition, and the doctor’s assessment.

Our clinic is located just a 1-minute walk from Shinjuku-sanchome Station and 7 minutes from JR Shinjuku Station.

Weight Loss Medications Available at Our Clinic

We offer several types of weight-loss medication, including weekly injections and oral tablets.

All medications listed below require an in-person medical consultation at our clinic.

Weekly Injections

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide)

  • Once-weekly injection
  • Acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors
  • May help reduce appetite and support weight loss
  • A nurse can explain how to administer the injection
  • Regular medical follow-up and blood tests are recommended

Mounjaro is approved in Japan for type 2 diabetes. Its use specifically for weight loss is off-label.

Wegovy (Semaglutide)

  • Once-weekly GLP-1 receptor agonist injection
  • Helps regulate appetite and food intake
  • Approved in Japan for obesity disease under specific medical criteria
  • Regular follow-up is required

Zepbound (Tirzepatide)

  • Once-weekly injection acting on GIP and GLP-1 receptors
  • Helps reduce appetite and support weight management

  • Regular medical monitoring is recommended

Although Wegovy and Zepbound are approved in Japan for the treatment of obesity, both medications are offered exclusively as self-pay treatments at our clinic. Japanese health insurance is not accepted for either medication.

The doctor will assess your BMI, medical history, and overall health to determine whether treatment is appropriate.

Oral Weight Loss Medications

Rybelsus (Semaglutide)

  • Oral GLP-1 receptor agonist
  • Taken once daily
  • Helps regulate appetite and blood glucose
  • Must be taken on an empty stomach according to specific administration instructions

Rybelsus is approved in Japan for type 2 diabetes. Its use for weight loss is off-label.

Forxiga (Dapagliflozin)

  • Increases glucose excretion through urine
  • May contribute to modest weight reduction
  • Requires appropriate assessment of kidney function and hydration status

Forxiga is approved in Japan for type 2 diabetes and certain other medical conditions, but not specifically for weight loss.

Our doctor will recommend a suitable treatment based on your BMI, medical history, current medications, and health goals. An in-person consultation is required for all medical weight-loss medications.
