Sexually transmitted diseases or infections (STD/STI)

Sexually transmitted diseases are all diseases transmitted sexually, and chlamydia is also transmitted from person to person, mainly through sexual intercourse or sex-like activities.

Symptoms of Chlamydia
Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted disease in Japan.
In men, the main symptoms are pain when urinating, discomfort in the urethra, and pus-filled discharge, while in women, mild symptoms such as increased discharge, thick yellow discharge, abdominal pain, and irregular genital bleeding are common.

  1. Checking and giving medicine:
First, the doctor will examine you to see if you have chlamydia. They will use either a urine sample, a sample from your private parts, or a sample from gargling.
  2. Medicine:
Chlamydia is treated with special drugs that fight bacteria. The most common drug used is called azithromycin, also known as Zithromax. The good thing about this medicine is that you only need to take it once to complete the treatment.
  3. Testing again:
It’s a good idea to wait for 2-3 weeks after taking the medicine before getting tested again. This will help the doctor confirm if the infection is still there or if it’s gone.

Besides checking for chlamydia, we also test and treat gonorrhea infections, candida vaginitis, as well as HIV and syphilis infections (Only testing).
